About Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Creative Outreach Solutions was honored to participate in our very first MLK Jr. Parade in Lancaster, Texas on January 17th, 2009. Our focus was to bring awareness of ovarian cancer to the community and to get them involved in this great cause. With the help of many volunteers, we were able to distribute about one hundred sweat shirts and goodie bags. The goodie bags contained information on how individuals can get financial assistance and free medical screening. There were diverse groups of people in attendance, including men and women between the ages of 18 to 80 years old; African-Americans, Caucasians, Hispanics and Asians, who had the chance to receive information that we readily distributed to promote our message. We chose to get involved in this remarkable event not only because of its significance and historic meaning among minorities, but also to commemorate the very first activity of Creative Outreach Solutions; bringing awareness and education about Ovarian cancer to our generation. I think we were able to achieve that goal by marching through the streets of Lancaster, with members of other communities, and answering questions regarding the Organization and how others can get involved in spreading the news. Our hopes and aspirations for this Organization is to assemble and impart valuable knowledge to others and eventually getting many more people involved in our cause.  On Saturday, we were able to gain a step towards that direction during the Martin Luther King Parade. Our goal is to also participate in many more parades in different cities around this great Metroplex, in doing so continue to spread the word regarding Ovarian cancer and bring awareness to many more people.
